A 46-year-old Estevan man is facing charges after incidents that took police about five and a half hours to resolve on Wednesday night.

EPS Const. Danielle Stephany said they were called around 6:30 p.m. to a disturbance at a Westview-area residence.

The subject of the call then raced away from police.

"Due to his speeds in residential areas, the pursuit was immediately stopped, just for fear that he would cause an accident," said Stephany.

Stephany said the matter kept them busy until about midnight.

"There was the initial uttering threats, then he attended the residence. It was just a long, convoluted file."

The man has been charged with uttering threats, mischief, and flight from police. He was kept in custody overnight, to be released in the morning with a court appearance scheduled for December.
