COVID-19 cases dipped slighty on Wednesday, according to data from the province.

However there were still 475 new cases in total, compared with 506 from the day before.

This brings the active case count up over 4,000 (4,016) province wide.

The province said 377 of the new cases were in unvaccinated people, 26 were partially vaccinated, and 72 were fully vaccinated.

In the South East Sub Zone, there were 25 new cases, bringing the active count up to 165.

More specifically, there were 8 new cases in Estevan's South East Sub Zone 4, with 46 active cases in total.

On Wednesday the Saskatchewan Health Authority also announced plans for automated COVID-19 positive test notifications across the province. Automated negative test notifications were previously made available in May.

Beginning on Friday Sept. 17, anyone tested for COVID-19 in Saskatchewan will receive their test results through either text message or a voice call.

The Health Authority said this will be an efficient way to notify people, particularly those who have tested positive so that they can begin self-isolating immediately prior to being contacted by Public Health.

Notifications will be sent to people aged 12 and older. Parents and guardians can also receive test results for their kids who are 18-years-old or younger.
