Around 175 teddy bears were collected for the local Santa Cause organization during the Carnduff Red Devils 4-3 home win over the Oxbow Huskies Saturday night in the Big 6 Hockey League.

The bears hit the ice when Nico Anderson opened the scoring 12:52 into the first period, and were picked up by the Carnduff U9 hockey team.

All pre-K to Grade 12 students at the Carnduff Education Complex got in for free, courtesy of the Carnduff Lions Club.

Former Estevan Bruins defenceman Alex Von Sprecken tied the game for Oxbow, who went up 3-1 in the second period.

But Justin Hollinger and Mark Moriarty scored to even the game 3-3. Matthew Audette scored the winner with 36 seconds left in the third.

Carnduff won 5-2 the night before in Oxbow, and is now on a three-game winning streak. The Huskies and Red Devils will meet again on Friday night.

The hosting Midale Mustangs beat the Wawota Flyers 7-5 in the other Saturday night game. Braxton Dukart scored twice for the Mustangs.

Friday's other games were a 12-3 home win for the Carlyle Cougars over the Mustangs - Ben Johnstone and Josh Romanyk each had three goals and an assist and Koby Morrisseau had six assists - and Drew Hoff had a goal and three assists to lead the Rockets post the KW Oil Kings 5-2 in Redvers.
