Residents in the Town of Midale will have to take some extra steps when preparing their drinking water for the next few days, as an unfortunate event caused it to be unreliable until tested and proven so by the experts.

"Due to a power failure that lasted for several hours last evening, the Water Security Agency has issued a Boil Water Advisory that will remain in effect until we have two clear samples back from the provincial lab," related Town Administrator Linda Dugan.

"It's precautionary, because the distribution system has to be re-pressurized and flushed after being depressurized."

She added that they will be sending a sample on Thursday and then again on Monday. They expect that they will know by April 12th whether or not the order can be lifted.
