With a week off while they await the winners of the two survivor series, the Estevan Bruins have a little extra time on their hands before their first round SJHL playoff series begins against the Humbodlt Broncos. They're spending some of that time off showing their skills to their fans and taking them out for a community skate on Saturday afternoon.

The Bruins skaters will face off against each other in five seperate skills contests beginning at 1 PM. After they've determined which of them shoots hardest and skates fastest, they'll open the ice surface up to their fans for a community skate. Once that's done, it's dinner time with a pasta buffet at the Beefeater Plaza.

Danny Ewen, director of operations for the Estevan Bruins, sat down with us on Friday morning, the day before the skills comp and skate, to give you all the details on the event, including the price. Spoiler alert: the skills comp and skate are free!

Head out to Affinity Place on Saturday, March 9, to watch your favorite Bruins show off their skills in five categories beginning at 1:00.
