On Monday, June 15, the City of Estevan first announced the closure of Veterans Crescent due to a valve replacement, something they expected would be a weeks-long project. Today, they announced the project had been completed.

"The City of Estevan would like to thank the public for their patience during the Veterans Crescent water main project," said City EMO Coordinator Helen Fornwald. "We are pleased to announce that Veterans Crescent is now open."

Fornwald had said yesterday she was hopeful the project would finally be wrapped up by today, and this morning she confirmed it. As part of yesterday's update, she'd mentioned the last layer of asphalt had already been put down.

As for some of the other projects the city is working on, today ought to be the final day of the closure of the service road near Souris Avenue North, which has been under repair since Monday. Another project will also be completed early this afternoon.

"Today, traffic light repairs continue at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 4th Street, with a four-way stop from 10:30 this morning until 1:00 PM," Fornwald said.

Construction on the police station on 3rd Street is ongoing as well, though there will be a break from closures today as the crews finished up yesterday's work on schedule. But you can expect more updates on that project as the weeks roll on.

"No worries there, they're continuing on," said Fornwald. "I think we'll find that periodically, from time to time, we'll have to close it down due to their construction, but I'll always keep the public informed."
