In the daily COVID-19 update released Saturday afternoon, the provincial government reported there were 937 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 throughout the province, along with 301 recoveries. This pushed the number of active cases up to 6,897.  

There were nine more people with COVID-19 admitted to the hospital, bringing the total number of hospitalizations up to 114. The province also changed reporting on hospitalizations, breaking it down into those who are hospitalized for COVID-19, and those who are in hospital for another reason who test positive for COVID-19. As of yesterday, 69 people had been admitted for COVID-19, and 38 cases were incidental. Another seven cases have yet to be determined. There are also 13 people with COVID-19 who are in intensive care. 

Geographically, Regina and Saskatoon had the most new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, with 225 and 224 respectively. There were 80 new cases reported in the South East region, and 68 in the Central East region. Another 46 cases were reported in the South Central Region, and 39 in the North East region. The North West region had 34 new cases, while the South West reported 29. There were 26 new cases in the North Central region, 19 in the Central West region and Far North West region, and 10 in the Far North East.  

The provincial government also reported another 3,034 doses of COVID-19 vaccines being administered. Of those, 1,098 were first doses, and 1,936 were second doses. The update on Saturday indicated 73.5 percent of the province’s total population is fully vaccinated, while 19.6 percent is unvaccinated and 6.9 percent is partially vaccinated.
