A year full of new programs, fundraisers, and the rollercoaster of adjusting to life in the time of COVID-19 will be on display for Envision Counselling and Support Center tonight, and so will a brief look at what's to come. They're holding their annual general meeting tonight, and they'll be doing so online for the first time.

"In our current circumstances, since we're not able to get together in person," said outreach coordinator Julie Dzuba, "we are going online with a Zoom meeting this year."

In many ways, despite the virtual meeting, Dzuba said this year's meeting will be just like previous AGMs. They'll go through their finances and statistics, though for a variety of reasons some of those statistics will look different from the year before. For one thing, some of their counselling sessions, like walk-in counselling, were brand new last year.

"Walk-in counselling was new for our last fiscal," Dzuba said. "We do have some really fun and exciting stats about the first year, so we're really excited to show those to everybody. As well, we'll be talking about our new (project) that was launched in our last fiscal as well."

Walk-in counselling was among the highlights of the additions for Envision last year. They also partnered with Golden West Radio for the second year in a row for the 50/50 For A Cause.

This year's AGM will be open to the (virtual) public if you RSVP on their Facebook page. Doing it virtually is a little bit strange for Dzuba, but she knew hers wasn't the only group having to meet this way and she was looking forward to a new challenge.

"It's going to be new for us this year because we haven't had a Zoom AGM before, so hopefully everything runs smoothly," she said. "We're just excited to see some of the faces of our partners."

Walk-in counselling resumed in Envision's offices in Estevan and Weyburn as of June 2. Oxbow's have been open since June 8. People seeking walk-in counseling are asked screening questions for COVID-19, and masks and hand sanitizer are available.
