The Senior Boys Volleyball team, led by Head Coach Braden MacLean, kicked off their weekend with Friday matchups that revealed a bit of early-season rust but ended in victory. Coach MacLean noted, "The Friday matches were... we played a little sloppy. We won both of our games, but we definitely showed a little bit of rust after not playing for a couple of weeks."

However, they quickly found their groove on Saturday, going undefeated in the tournament despite losing one set. "The boys really brought it together," said Coach MacLean. The seven-team tournament featured squads from Estevan, Oxbow, Lampman, Carlyle, Montmartre, Ogema, and Kipling.

Reflecting on their performance, Coach MacLean observed, "It was good. We saw improvement from our first week, but definitely still a lot of things that we need to improve on." Looking ahead, the team faces stiff competition on the road in Swift Current, where they'll encounter teams that competed at provincials last year.

The Senior Girls Volleyball team, under the guidance of Head Coach Mike Fisher, embarked on their season with a trip to Weyburn. This tournament marked the first games and an excellent opportunity to gauge the team's potential for the year.

Coach Fisher shared, "The girls had a really good weekend. Obviously, for the first games, the first tournament, we had a few kinks to work out in the first couple of games, but as soon as we got into the last few games, we really found our swing and found our groove and the girls fought really hard." Their efforts paid off, securing a second-place finish in Weyburn, setting a strong foundation for the season.

The team will continue their journey this weekend in Regina, where they will participate in the Truth and Reconciliation tournament—a significant event shared among several schools.
