The Estevan Fire Department has had a few calls over the week, with Fire Chief Rick Davies sending out a release on those occurrences.

On August 07, at around 3:15 AM, the department was called for mutual aid by Bienfait Fire Department for a structure fire in the town of Bienfait.

A command unit, engine, and tanker were sent from Estevan to assist. Crews assisted the Bienfait Fire Crew in extinguishing the fire, with both on the scene for approximately 6 hours.

The fire is currently under investigation. As this fire was outside of the Estevan Fire Department's jurisdiction, they have no further details to share.

Later that week on August 08 at around 8:30 PM, a crew was dispatched to St. Josephs Hospital for an EMS assist call, with the crew responding and assisting.

Then lastly on August 13, around 5:00 PM, a crew was dispatched for a commercial fire alarm in the west-central area of the city.

the crew arrived on the scene and determined there was no emergency taking place, due to a possible faulty detection.

There were also numerous false alarms over the long weekend but those were quickly determined to be false in nature and crews did not respond.
