A pair of Estevan Hockey Players have been drafted into their WHL, joining teams after the draft concluded last week.

The two skaters are Carter Onrait (15) and Cutter Knight (15) who both currently play for the AAA Estevan Bears.

The two players are both having a good rookie year with the Bears, putting up eight and five points, respectively.

Onrait hails from Estevan as well, so he has some thanks for giving out to the community.

"I'd love to thank my family for always supporting me, and my friends that have always encouraged me to get better, and my teammates who have encouraged me to get better, and my coaches who have helped me to get better, and my trainer who has worked with me for a while, and everyone who's helped me get this far in my hockey career."

Onrait will be playing for the Prince George Cougars in British Colombia.

Cutter Knight, the other Estevan player who was drafted, hails from Swift Current and talked a bit about everyone who's helped him so far.

"Definitely my parents, and numerous coaches that have really helped me. Former teammates that pushed me into being better, and my siblings.

Knight won't be too far away, being drafted by the Kelowna Rockets also in British Colombia.

Both players likely won't be hitting the big time any time soon, but you may want to keep your eyes on the ice for when they do.
