RBC Regional President Kim Ulmer, wants businesses to invest in women. That was the message she brought to last month's Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting in Estevan. She went on to say that businesses need to see the economic and community benefits women bring to the workplace.

She adds, "If this was an investment, you'd be looking to re-balance your portfolio or looking at a different strategy."

Her speech to the Chamber highlighted not only the work that has been done and the dialogue that has been started, but a look ahead to the future.

"The voice of the next generation is coming and the older generation should mentor and promote inclusivity. We all have a responsibility to stimulate thinking and conversation to continue down this path."

With a focus on International Women's Day which took place on March 8, Ulmer saw the advantage of speaking with a diverse group at the Chamber AGM.

"For me, there is greater benefit in having all of us in the room. This is really an opportunity for us, whether business people or personally, to have a unified voice, and a unified understanding of the situation. I applaud the chamber for bringing all walks of life to the table. That is absolutely critical to moving forward."
