The provincial government reported 49 new cases of COVID-19 Friday afternoon, along with 49 recoveries, and one death. The number of active cases of COVID-19 is now 548. 

Of the 49 new cases that were reported, 24 were in the Saskatoon region, and 11 were in the Regina region. There were three new cases reported in the Central East and Far North West, two in the North West, North East and South East, and one case in the North Central and South Central.  

As for the ages of the new cases, three were under the age of five, and 11 were between the ages of 5 and 11. There were three cases in the 12-19 group, and 16 in the 20 to 39 group. Another 10 cases were reported in the 40-59 group, five in the 60-79 group and one over the age of eighty. 

There were 1,824 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported in the update released Friday afternoon. Of those 988 were first doses and 836 were second doses. So far 71.9 percent of the province’s total population is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
