Where can you find the World’s Largest Paperclip, an annual bacon festival, and a thriving historical society all in one place? Kipling, Saskatchewan; that’s where.

This quaint town is located northeast of Estevan on Highway 48 and has been making the history books since 1909 when it was first established as a village. Not only does Kipling have many modern amenities (Golf Courses, Tennis Courts, Skating and Curling Rinks, Swimming, and Baseball Diamonds, for example) but it also boasts some wacky attractions. Kipling’s deputy mayor, Pat Jackson, explains that Kipling is a beloved community that is “unafraid” to think outside of the box.

"We're known for slightly off the wall ideas that seem to result in something pretty wonderful," Pat explained with fondness.

If you’re planning a summer road trip, why not make Kipling one of your prairie stops? Pat encourages all travellers to make the journey if able, saying: “I encourage people from all over, particularily the Southeast, to come and take a look and see what's here."  And if you’re in town, make sure you stop at the Paperclip Cottage Cafe for a welcoming coffee and delicious sandwich.
