There is, perhaps, no better way to start Father's Day than kicking it off with a hearty breakfast, and local residents had the chance on Sunday to do just that.

Clear, sunny skies, a light breeze and a cool, though not to chilly morning made for perfect flying weather for the annual Lampman Fly-in Breakfast for Father's Day on Sunday morning at the Lampman Airport.

It was the 41st edition of the event, one of the longest running of it's kind in Canada, and they've never skipped a year!

The great conditions meant a fantastic turnout for some pancakes, eggs and bacon, along with the perfunctory coffee or juice. While at times weather has caused poor attendance, organizers said that this year, the number of people that came out was the highest in a while. Quite a few pilots in their different aircraft arrived, along with a lot of local folks driving into the airport as well.

Matt Cinnamon was among those literally 'dropping' in for some food, and grabbed a couple photos to capture this long-lasting and historic event in the community of Lampman.
