Estevan Fire Rescue has had a few calls over the past nine days, with Fire Chief Rick Davies detailing those.

October 07, 2023 - Crews were dispatched for a residential fire alarm at around 5:50 PM in the North end of the city. Incident command attended the scene, determined the alarm was cooking-related, and confirmed their assistance was not required.

October 09, 2023 - Crews were dispatched for a commercial fire alarm at around 1:20 AM in the Southeast area of the city. After crews responded they inspected the building and determined there were no issues.

October 10, 2023  - They were dispatched for a 2-vehicle collision at around 12:20 PM in the East part of the city. Crews responded and determined there was no entrapment or injuries. Appeared to be minor damage to vehicles.

October 11, 2023 - Called for mutual aid assistance by Bienfait Fire for a vehicle fire at around 4:30 AM. The call was reported to be Southeast of Bienfait. The rescue and tanker were sent to assist Bienfait crews in extinguishing the fire, with no injuries reported from the incident.

October 11, 2023 - Crews were called for a commercial fire alarm at close to 3:45 PM in the central part of the city. Incident command responded to the scene and determined it to be a false alarm.

October 14, 2023 - Crews were dispatched for a possible unknown fire around 3:50 AM in an area Northeast of the city. Crews responded to investigate and found no fire within their response boundary North and East of the city.

October 15, 2023 - Members were dispatched for a commercial fire alarm at close to 3:00 AM on the East side of the city. Crews responded, inspected the building, and determined there were no issues.

October 16, 2023 - Crews were dispatched for a residential fire alarm at around 4:45 Am on the West side of the city. Crews responded and investigated, finding Carbon Monoxide readings were elevated within the home. SaskEnergy was called to the scene to assist and determine the cause of the issues. No illness or injuries were reported.

October 16, 2023 - Members dispatched for a reported vehicle fire at around 6:45 AM North of the city. Crews responded and confirmed a fire involving a passenger vehicle. Crews extinguished the fire and assisted with clearing the area, with no injuries reported.

EFR also thanked everyone who attended their open house that was held on the evening of October 10th in celebration of Fire Prevention Week.
