Souris Moose Mountain MP Ed Komarnicki

Our member of parliament is bringing up the issue of the long gun registry once again.

Souris-Moose Mountain MP Ed Komarnicki feels it's time for the long gun registry to be scrapped once and for all.

The Conservative Government is trying to move forward on that motion. Komarnicki explains. "The bill will ultimately come back to the house for a vote. I'm unsure if that will be before the we recess for summer. Unfortunately the Liberal leader has instructed his MP's to vote against the bill."

Komarnicki adds they are trying to put pressure on the rural MPs "We have taken radio ads and newspaper ads and said members should contact their members of parliament, and that they take a stand."

Komarnicki also says the Bloc are opposed to the bill while the N.D.P. are planning a free vote. He is unsure of the final outcome but believes it will be a close call.
