SGI is focusing its traffic safety spotlight on the proper seat belt and car seat etiquette needed while commuting.

Jennifer Sully is a communications consultant with SGI and said that the lap belt should be sitting just across your hips and the shoulder belt should be going across your chest and just across the middle of your shoulder.

"Police across Saskatchewan are going to be looking for people going without their seatbelt, wearing it improperly or not having their kids properly restrained in the vehicle."

If people have questions about car seats there are classes that you can attend which are put on by SGI throughout the year, you can also book a personal appointment with a car seat technician.
