The Estevan Great North Bears' scoring touch was on display at Affinity Place as they took three of a possible four points to open their SMAAAHL regular season.

Estevan beat Tisdale 8-3 Saturday night before falling 6-5 to the Trojans in an eight-round shootout Sunday afternoon.

Forward Chase Holt had a hat trick for Estevan on Saturday and added an assist on Sunday. He's tied with four points for the league lead in scoring.

Bears forward Jase McNichol also has four points, after posting a pair of assists in each game.

The Bears scored twice in five powerplay chances Saturday, outshooting the Trojans 32-28. Estevan went 1 for 7 on the powerplay Sunday, and outshot Tisdale 42-25.

Kaden Perron was in goal for the Bears both games.

Estevan's next games are Saturday night and Sunday afternoon on the road against the 0-2-0 Battlefords Stars.
