The province is continuing to loosen restrictions as part of its reopening program, with step two taking effect this weekend.

Businesses across the province are seeing more customers as indoor businesses can have more clients at a time.

it's no different in Estevan: business owners are seeing more customers as restrictions begin to be loosened.

A local photography studio in Estevan Infinity & Beyond Photography has seen a lot more work, as they specialize in newborn photography.

Raquel Klassen, the owner of the shop, says, "We were shut down for a couple of months last year, and then when we were allowed to open it definitely slowed down. I specialize in newborn photography and parents wanted to make sure their babies were safe," said Klassen, "I had a little bit of a harder time booking - a lot of other photographers in the area did."

"it's starting to pick up now that restrictions are lifting. Everyone is kind of feeling a little bit more comfortable, and with the safety stuff I have in place people are a lot more inclined to book."

Klassen says that she had to make a few changes due to the pandemic, but operations were as a whole familiar.

"I know the industry has definitely had to up our cleaning standards. we got PPE, just a lot of extra sanitizing. When we're working with newborns, we do all that stuff regularly but it was just a little more diligence, a little more stuff so we could protect everyone's little ones."

The province's opening plan is still moving, and Klassen says that she approves of the loosening restrictions so far.

"I think they've done everything as safe as possible, and tried to keep people as happy as possible, and it's probably hard to be the one making those calls," said Klassen. "I know you can't keep everyone happy. I'm very thankful that things are starting to open up and I think they've done a great job thus far."

Klassen says that she's thankful for all of the clients who helped keep her open in the past year.
