If you're going to spending any time near water this summer, the Canadian Red Cross reminds you to be safe.

This includes not consuming alcohol when swimming or operating a boat, always have enough lifejackets on board, and ensure home pools are fenced and the gate is fitted with a self-closing and self-latching mechanism.

 

According to Public Affairs Assistant Alison Frehlich, over four-hundred people drown in Canada each year.
