Carlyle's Cale Fleury is one of 30 players that will join the NHL's newest franchise.

The Seattle Kraken selected the righthanded defenceman from the Montreal Canadiens in today's expansion draft.

Fleury has played three professional seasons, including 41 games with Montreal in 2019-20 where he registered a goal.

He's been with the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League the rest of his professional career where he's amassed 11 goals and 23 assists in 96 regular-season games.

Fleury was third-round pick (87 overall) by the Habs in 2017. He played major junior with the Kootenay ICE from 2014-15 to partway through 2017-18 when he was traded to the Regina Pats in their run to hosting the Memorial Cup.
