Local law enforcement saw some action last weekend in their continued effort to crack down on narcotics in the southeast.

"The Estevan Police Service Drug and Intelligence Unit, along with members of the local RCMP detachment, conducted a joint investigation in the Town of Bienfait. It focused on a male involved in cocaine and marijuana trafficking," shared Police Chief Paul Ladouceur.

"In the afternoon on May 5th, we carried out a search warrant in relation to the investigation at a residence in the Town."

Officers discovered cocaine, marijuana, several marijuana derivatives and cash. The street value of the drugs seized was estimated at around $15,000.

"Subsequently the male was taken into custody and a number of charges were laid," Ladouceur stated.
