The Estevan Police Service hope a person buzzing to get into a local condo to deliver an Amazon package raises more than just the occupant's eyebrows.

Const. Lana Gropp said people should be careful with who they let into housing units.

Police were called on Thursday to a report of suspicious activity. An occupant of a condo said someone rang to gain access, saying he had an Amazon package to deliver. The occupant asked the person to leave the package, which he said he could not do. The occupant then said they'd go meet the man, but he left by the time the resident got to the door.

"It was very odd," said Gropp. "We haven't had anything like that before. We just want to caution people to make sure that they don't let strangers into a building without knowing."

Police said the complainant had not ordered an Amazon package.

"I'm glad that they didn't let them into the building, because we don't really know what that person's intentions were."

Gropp said police are not sure if it was a prank or something more serious.
