A southeast hockey team managed to go undefeated over all five of their games at the Minot Pepsi Shoot Out over the weekend.

The Torquay U11 Lions put up a noteworthy performance, scoring 69 goals through the tournament and capping off their final game with an 8-3 victory.

Coach Dan Daae says that their five-win, no-loss weekend was great for the team.

"They really came together as a team and worked hard in their passing game. There's a lot of a lot of cycling going on and they definitely earned it for sure."

Daae says that win is special as they've gotten very close in previous tournaments.

"This group we've had out here has come close to some tournament wins here in the last couple of years and they always kind of came a little short, so it's kind of nice to see them pull this one out. They were in like four different tournaments last year that they came in second place, so they're happy to get the first win for them, the second-year group anyway."

Daae says that now they're focusing on league games as the season continues.
