As we move deeper into spring and get closer to summer, a number of big projects are working their way onto the radar of the Town of Midale. The town is hoping to secure some money for several of them with one large fundraiser.

The town is hosting a 50/50 from now until Canada Day, when the draw will be held early in the afternoon, to raise money for those projects. These include work on the rink, the pool, and the new fire hall they're fundraising for.

"The rink, we really suffered with COVID so it's just to kind of give a boost to the rink with that," said Town Administrative Assistant Vanessa Lund. "The pool is always in need of funds, and the fire hall, we're building a new fire hall so it's to help raise funds to get that going."

Tickets will be on sale for $10 all over Midale from the town office to various businesses around town. According to Lund, if all else fails, you can simply leave a message for them their social media and they'll find a way to get your ticket to you.

"Any member of any of those committees will have them as well," she said. "Even just comment on the Facebook that you want some and we will take e-transfers to get them to you."

With so many projects on the go, the town will be hoping to raise quite a bit of money to support them all. To that end, they've got a large number of tickets to sell between now and the draw date.

"There are 2500 tickets and we're hoping to sell them all," Lund said. "The max prize is $12,500 so make sure you buy tickets because the prize is a good one."

Midale received over $96,000 in Municipal Economic Enhancement Project (MEEP) funding last year, some of which went to land subdividing for their new fire hall.
