Woodlawn Regional Park Manager, Maureen Daost explains, "Woodlawn Regional Park's first Family Fun Day was an excellent afternoon spent in the sun in perfect weather. There is no final count yet, but there was a great turn out for the day."

The park authorities decided to change from the Beach Bash to the Family Fun Day based on the primary users of the park, being families; they decided to shift the focus to an event to activities families can do together.

Daost explains, "The park authorities meet monthly to determine what events they will plan for the next year based on the feedback and information from past events."

Children and parents had fun with all they could see and do at the event; there was a petting zoo with a llama, some kittens, a puppy and other farm animals; as well as bumper cars, a rock climbing wall, bouncy castles and more.  The biggest feature of yesterday was the show put on by Dr Von Houligan; he performed three 90 minute shows that included juggling, magic feats, and fire-breathing.

Daost wanted to thank all the sponsors and volunteers who helped make the Family Fun Day a success.
