It was a relatively quiet weekend for the Estevan Fire and Rescue Department.

"We responded to a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian, north on Kensington Avenue," shared Fire Chief, Dale Feser. "All the local emergency services responded to the scene. We assisted with EMS and Estevan Police as well as RCMP."

That accident occurred Friday night and there is no word on injuries.

He also shared that there was another call on Saturday.

"We also had a residential fire alarm out in the RM of Estevan area which fire crews attended to. Turned out to be a preventable false alarm."

"Other than that, it's been uneventful for the fire department for the remainder of the weekend."

Chief Feser also added that weather conditions are likely going to make driving conditions tricky in the next few days with possible freezing rain and high winds. He advises all drivers to take their time and use extra caution on the roads.
