The Lampman Recreation Board has been busy this season, but they continue to receive great news the closer it gets to the summer. The Board along with many others from the community of Lampman have been working hard to get the funds raised for their pool renovations.

Lampman Recreational Director Brittany Fox, "Last Wednesday, March 20th we were invited to the Arcola Optimist Club supper, and they do cheque presentations of funds they have raised over the year with their snowmobile rally. And we were fortunate enough to be one of the chosen organizations."

"We were thrilled to be receiving the funds, as it pushed us over our fundraising goal for our pool liner. So we're going to get to do a little bit more of the work that we are wanting to do. Instead of fundraising for a couple of years, we will be able to do it all at once. And it's really great for the community to see all the hard work and volunteer hours really do pay off." Fox goes on to add, "We received $11,000 and we were just blown away."

Even though Fox is a bit disappointed by the snow melting as she is an avid snowmobiler, she does add that it's a good thing, "The pool company from Winnipeg is going to come out and do the last little bit of concrete work around the edges. And then we will be filling in the pool and having it up and running in May or June 1st."

The Lampman Recreational Board will be releasing their pool schedule as soon as the pool is ready to go.
