At the Estevan Provincial Courthouse yesterday, Shane Stainer, from Binscarth, Manitoba man was sentenced to 34 days and must complete an impaired driving treatment program after pleading guilty to impaired driving. He also received five month probation, and a two year driving prohibition and will have to pay a $100 surcharge.

Stainer also pleaded guilty to unlawfully transporting a prohibited firearm in a careless manner, Stainer will have to pay a $500 fine along with a $150 surcharge and be subject to a three year firearms prohibition. Stainer, and an Estevan man were arrested on December 2nd after police noticed the pair driving at night with no lights on.

Also on the docket was Michelle and Victor Omoriyi who are charged with human smuggling. They are expected to enter their pleas on March 5th.

Neil Goertzen and Marian Ellson were adjourned until February 26th.
