The weather may have been chilly, but Techmation proved that if there's food, they will come.

Matthew Faris, district manager of Estevan Techmation Electric and Controls, was pleased with the turn out for their barbeque fundraiser. With proceeds going to the Salvation Army, the Techmation staff managed to raise a total of $2,160.

Faris also noted the importance of the event taking place shortly before Thanksgiving, leaving the Salvation Army more time to purchase and stock the items.

"I think with everything going on there are a few extra people that are requiring their service so I feel that it was just an added bonus to them this year to be able to buy a few extra items right before Thanksgiving which is usually a festive feast."

This is Techmation's first time hosting a fundraising event and Faris said that, although the fundraiser was originally intended to be bigger, they decided to keep the food and prizes client based at this time due to COVID-19.

"Hopefully springtime next year everything's normal again and we'll have something more community wise would be the goal."
