Canada Day and alcohol typically go hand in hand. Luckily, however, locals seemed to be on good behaviour. Sargent Tyler McMillen with the Estevan Police Service said there was only one person found to be over the legal drinking limit. That individual will now be without a license for three days.

Other than the driving offence police were called to a disturbance near Sobey's. "Two men were found walking up the street causing a disturbance. In the end, no charges had to be laid but the two men were spoken to and warned of their actions."

While those two men were able to get away scot-free, the same could not be said for a pair of women in the city. "We arrested two females in the early morning hours due to being intoxicated in public." The two were kept in cells at EPS so they could sober up and later had a non-intoxicated family member come and pick the two of them up.

As for any delinquent firework shooters, EPS did hear of some individuals shooting fireworks in the city. At that time they were unable to find those responsible and were short on time responding to more pressing matters.
