ERIN WILSON:

Thanks to Erin Wilson, Program Manager with the City of Estevan, for joining us on CJ1150 on Tuesday!

Summertime is just over a month away from officially beginning, and the ever-popular 'Playpark Program' will be returning to four different parks in Estevan!

Have a listen to our chat with Erin and get ready for another great summer in the Energy City!

The Playpark program is at four different parks throughout the city. Churchill Park, Rusty Duce Park, Hillcrest Park and Hillside Park.

July 2nd is our first official opening day. Typically, we will have a meet and greet event at the beginning of the season, but this year is a bit of a change and those wanting to meet our play leaders can now come to the True North Canada Day Celebration on June 29th at Centennial Park.

We will continue to have night swims during the week and rotating Saturday swims at each park. This year there are a number of special events that we will be sharing once our new Playpark supervisor gets their ducks in a row.

We are really excited to have this new supervisor, her name is Anna, and she comes to us with an education background. I think she will bring a lot to the table with morning programs for the kids as well as unique crafts and experiences to keep your children learning, engaged and having fun.

Each week throughout the summer we will be hosting theme weeks at each park, themes such as Weather week, Science Club week and Kings and Queens.

This hot weather gets us itching to get going! All of our playleaders are returning from previous years, Tiona will be at Hillside, Tasia at Churchill, Tamira at Hillcrest and Jenna at Rusty Duce.

We have done a bit of maintenance on some of the spaces this spring. Hillcrest park has received a new pool liner that we partnered with the Community Initiatives Funds Grant and the parks that surround the play houses are looking really nice and green!

The season official last day is August 25th, our last big event will be on August 23rd and will consist of a giant slip and slide at Royal Heights Veterans Memorial Park.
