The Labour Day weekend was a fairly busy one for the Estevan Police Service, although it was mostly filled with minor calls and misunderstandings. 

Starting early on Friday the fourth, police had just two calls. The first was a Report Impaired Drivers (RID) call, when a customer at a restaraunt was believed to be about to drive after consuming alcohol, but it was found out that a friend had driven the customer home.

The second call on Friday was a report of mischief after the property was damaged at a house party. The matter is under investigation.

Then on Saturday night, police had several noise complaints from a residence in the city and after they had to attend a second time, one of the residents was charged under a bylaw.

Also Saturday night, police were called to a local business thanks to an unruly customer. The person in question was under the influence of alcohol while consuming merchandise he had not paid for. After becoming belligerent with police, he was arrested for public intoxication and held in cells until he was sober.

Finally on Sunday, there was three calls to police. A gas station owner believes they were the victim of a fuel theft after someone fueled up and left without paying, and the matter is under investigation.

Police also recieved a call after a fire was started in a back alley by three youths. The fire was put out before any damages were made, but police are looking for more information. If you have anything regarding this, the EPS will awaityour call.

The final call of Sunday was a call regarding a male chasing a young girl. Police found this to be a family dispute as the man was the girl's father, and no further action was required.

The Monday holiday saw no calls for the police.
