It's been a whirlwind year for Mike Kroeger and Nickleback. Fresh off the release of a new album, they've been around the world and all points in between on a 44-city tour for Feed The Machine, their newest album. Now the Canadian rock sensations will drop anchor at the North Dakota State fair on July 28.

For Mike Kroeger, basist for Nickelback, it feels like the ride hasn't really stopped. The tour was a blast, and a bit of a blur, and they're still going strong 44 cities later. Now he and his bandmates, one of the best selling foreign acts in the United States of all time, are ready to play in our backyard here in Southeast Saskatchewan.

Mike phoned in to the Rock 106 studio on Tuesday, July 10 and we talked touring, being a rockstar and a dad, the success and influences of Feed The Machine, and the small town work ethic he's brought to some of the biggest stages in the world.

Thanks again, Mike, and a special thank you to Mindy Klein for helping facilitate the interview. Nickelback will play the North Dakota State fair on July 28, and thanks to Rock 106 there will be ten of our listeners going for free. We'll give away two tickets every weekday from July 9-13. Check the Rock 106 blog page for more!

In a 23-year career beginning in Hanna, Alberta, Nickelback has sold over 50 million albums and sold out twelve consecutive world tours. They are the second best-selling foreign group in the United States of the 21st century, trailing only The Beatles.
