The Estevan Police Service announced that they had arrested a man who had allegedly committed multiple thefts in Estevan.

Police were dispatched yesterday to a complaint of a male who had entered a yard in the 1100 block of 1st Street and tried to remove a barbecue from the residence.

The male was located a short time later and identified as an individual wanted in relation to multiple thefts, frauds, and mischiefs.

Police attempted to arrest the suspect at which time he fled the scene, resulting in the deployment of Police Service Dog Max. The male received minor injuries to his lower body as a result of being apprehended by the canine.  He received medical treatment before being lodged in cells and will appear in court on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

He is facing the following charges under the Criminal Code:

  • Theft under $5000 x 6
  • Possession of property obtained by Crime x 1
  • Resist arrest x 1
  • Mischief to property under $5000 x 1
  • Fail to comply with a probation order x 7
  • Fraud under $5000 x 2

The police request that residents check their properties and report any additional stolen/found items.
