Christmas is less than two weeks away, but there's still time to support the Salvation Army.

Kettles at Walmart with Golden West Radio Staff

Golden West Radio is participating in this years Kettles as we help ring the bells for your donations.

The Kettle Campaign is in full swing running at five locations around the city. They are located at the Co-op, Walmart, No Frills, the Liquor Store, and Estevan Shoppers' Mall.

However, there is a need for volunteers to stand by the Kettle's for two-hour shifts over the next couple weeks. Donations cannot be received if no one is volunteering to help for the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Salvation Army.

Heather Harbin says shifts run in the afternoons from twelve until eight, and many groups are involved. “We had the Kinsmen, Masons, Legion, some banks and businesses. Its wonderful, they take a day for us, and they look at filling each hour.”

“The Cadets, someone played the guitar, a ladies daughter sang, and someone is playing the harp on Saturday. Everyone is getting into the spirit, its wonderful!”

All the funds will go towards helping the Salvation Army around Christmas time with any remaining funds, helping the many programs they take part in throughout the year including the Food Bank.

Contact the Salvation Army at 634-2074 and ask for Ronza or Jane-Anne if you have some extra time to volunteer.
