Antler is a small hamlet and the RM of Antler has Redvers within it and Rob Henderson the RM Reeve expressed his love for his community.

Henderson describes this year, “Been kind of up and down, we definitely need a rain real bad.”

Infrastructure coming into the area, “Theirs a proposal for squeezing oil out of hemp, the companies Endless Sky. They are planning on putting a plant in Redvers. They extract it, produce the oil, and they distribute it to whoever.”

“We’re not doing anything right now, I think we have a mile and a half to do,” Henderson responds to roads being built. “But were going to wait until harvest is over. If things stay like this, harvest is going to be over early. We’ll have lots of time to do it after.”

Because the hamlet of Antler is so small Ron shared about Redvers which is in the RM of Antler. “We got an excellent recreation center, and were just redoing the swimming pool. Their going to completely redo it, complete with a splash park and total new system. And we do have an excellent health center in Redvers as well. A hospital with 3 doctors.”

In regard to attractions, “We do have the tourism log cabin that promotes local products, that’s part of the campground their too. This all joins with the ball diamonds, rec center, golf clubhouse, its all in one area.”

“A few people live their,” Henderson talks of those who actually live in Antler. “I know it used to be quite a community years ago, but its like all other things. It kind of goes by the way-side.

“Harvest is going and from reports its pretty decent yields, I think if we did have a good rain it wouldn’t slow down the farmers for long. Because it would be soaked up pretty quick.”

Even though Antler is small, the communities around it continue to grow and therefore, create a thriving RM in the area.
