The province's Highway Hotline is advising against travel on some southeast highways early Friday following Thursday night's snowfall.

The majority of highways across southern Saskatchewan are listed as being in winter driving condition. Reduced visibility, blowing snow, loose snow, and drifting snow are cited around the southeast.

But Highway 33 north of Kisbey and 39 northwest of Yellow Grass have 'travel not recommended' status, with icy and slippery sections, and snow drifts also being reported (as of 6 a.m.).

Environment Canada's blowing snow advisory was renewed around 4:30 Friday morning. It calls for five to 15 centimetres of additional snow by Friday evening.

The forecast calls for snow to lighten by mid-morning.

* A section of highway east of Carievale has 'seasonal driving conditions' reported.
