Tragically Hip Frontman Gord Downie Dies At Age 53

The rock and roll community has lost another icon, one born and raised from Canadian soil.

Gord Downie has died at the age of 53, succumbing from an aggresive form of brain cancer that he first discovered in December 2015.

Downie was the frontman for one of Canada's most celebrated and popular rock groups: The Tragically Hip. The band released a statement on Wednesday morning that their bandmate had passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
