Another popular sport for registration during Estevan's City Wide is basketball.

The Estevan Student Basketball Association runs both a fall and winter session that is looking to gain more interest as it continues to grow in numbers.

"We've noticed that in the last couple of years a lot of the classes are getting not only full, but there's a wait list so the interest for basketball in Estevan is growing," explained Melissa Holman who is one of the coaches of the program. "We added a grade seven and eight group the last two years, and we're hoping to continue with the interest in the middle year grades."

"We're looking forward to having a new group of kids and we're hoping all of our classes will be full this year."

Grades one through six run on Monday nights, and then when their season is finished the grade seven and eights are on Monday's and Wednesday's.

This will be Holman's fourth year helping out with the program.

"This is the first year that myself, Shane Davenport and Matthew Walliser are all in charge so we are looking forward to what we can accomplish."

Holman encourages those interested in basketball to come to city wide and ask any questions.
